Wheelchair Basketball 2013

We are off to a great start this year.  Our basketball season began September 7th.  Last week the prep team scrimmaged the Bennett Blazers in Baltimore, Maryland.  This upcoming Saturday the JV team will scrimmage the Sportable Spokes from Richmond, Virginia.  Come out to support the team.  The scrimmage will begin at 10:30 at Irving Middle School (8100 Old Keene Mill Rd, Springfield, VA 22152).

Combined Practice Today

Today the team was able to play wheelchair basketball with a team from Turkey through the Sports Visitors program with the U.S. State Department.  It was a great experience.  Thank you to everyone that participated!

 

Combined Practice with Turkish Team

Tomorrow the team will have a combined practice with an adult wheelchair basketball team from Turkey. The practice will be from 9-11 am at the James Lee Community Center. See you there!

Lacrosse Clinic Today

CAR WASH!

The Falcons Car Wash is TOMORROW beginning at 9am at the BP gas station in McLean (1423 Chain Bridge Road, McLean, VA). We will be raising money for tournaments fees and to purchase new equipment. See you there!

NVTC April Madness Game

On April 5th, the Falcons have been invited to play a scrimmage basketball game for the residents of the Nothern Virginia Training Center (NVTC) located at 9901 Braddock Rd, Fairfax, VA 22032-1941. The NVTC is the location of the Falcons Tuesday night practice and the game is a great way to thank the center for letting us use their gym.

Please let us know Monday April 1, 2013 if you plan on playing in the game. This is especially important if you use a team chair that is stored at James Lee.

 

 

The game will run from 7:15PM to 8:15PM. Each team will be a mix of Falcons and volunteers in an effort to make them as competitive as possible. All Falcons may play in the game (novice/ prep/ JV). On the night of the game, please plan to arrive at the NVTC by 6:30pm.

Great hustle this weekend, Falcons! We ended the tournament on a great note with a 15-19 win against the New Jersey Nets JV team.  More pictures to come!

 

 

Katie Kirlin Wheelchair Basketball Tournament THIS WEEKEND

The Falcons JV team will be playing at the Katie Kirlin Wheelchair Basketball Tournament this weekend at the High School of the Future (4021 Parkside Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19104). They will play Friday night at 7:00PM, Saturday at 10:30AM and 1:30PM, and Sunday at 10:30AM. GO, FALCONS!!
