Congratulations, Joel!  Joel won a Fairfax County Champion of Character Award this year for his district.  Please come out to the award ceremony on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the Fairfax County Government Center if you are able to.

Awards

** In May of 2009 the Fairfax Falcons coaches were selected for a Distinguished Colleague Award from the Fairfax County Department of Community and Recreation Services (CRS). The Distinguished Colleague Award is presented to organizations and individuals outside of CRS who have helped further the mission of CRS.

** The Fairfax County Volunteer Gold Star Award was presented to two of the Falcon coaches.

** Four Falcons have received the Fairfax County Champion of Character Award from the Fairfax Athletic Council.

October 2008:
- Lisa (McCoy) Rode, Coach (Mt. Vernon District)

- Otilia, Athlete (Providence District)
- Chris, Athlete (Sully District)


Falcons in the News:

The Fairfax Falcons were featured in a local newspaper, the Springfield Connection, in October 2008. Girl Scout Troop 8154 volunteered for several weeks at basketball practices and raised money to purchase equipment for the team. Click here to read more about it.

In April 2008, Alex, an athlete on the Falcons team, was interviewed by NBC29 while participating in the Mid-Atlantic Wheelchair Games in Fishersville, Virginia. Click here to read the article.
